The Spanish version is a courtesy translation. If they differ, this English version governs.
The short version
- Every FrameDrop app — browser, Mac app, Figma plugin, Premiere panel — is free up to 24 frames per sheet. No app is ever locked.
- A license is $10, one time, and unlocks 25 to 120 frames per sheet in all four apps. No subscription. On sale from FrameDrop 1.0.
- One key works in every app, on up to 3 Macs. The browser and the plugins don't count toward the 3.
- Not for you? Full refund within 14 days, no questions asked.
- Your footage and your contact sheets are yours. We never see them.
- Please don't share or resell your key.
01Who we are
FrameDrop is made by La Hacienda LLC ("we", "us"), a creative studio in Medford, Massachusetts. These terms cover the FrameDrop website, the browser app, the Mac app and the FrameDrop plugins (the Figma plugin and the Premiere panel). By using FrameDrop or buying a license, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle data.
02What's free
FrameDrop is free to use, for personal and commercial work, in the browser at framedrop.video, the Mac app, the Figma plugin and the Premiere panel, for contact sheets of up to 24 frames. Free includes every layout and export format, color palettes, opening a video from a URL, and ProRes/MOV in the Mac app. The Mac app download stays public.
It stays free. We may add, change or remove features over time, but we won't put sheets of up to 24 frames behind a paywall, and no FrameDrop app will be locked for not having a license.
03The license
A FrameDrop license costs $10 USD, paid once (plus any sales tax/VAT Gumroad adds where you live). Licenses go on sale with FrameDrop 1.0. With one you get:
- Contact sheets of 25 to 120 frames in the browser app, the Mac app, the Figma plugin and the Premiere panel, with one key. As each plugin ships, it works with the same key at no extra cost.
- Free updates for the whole 1.x version line.
A license is for one person. In the Mac app you can activate it on up to 3 Macs you use. Using it in the browser and the plugins doesn't count toward those 3. Use it for personal or commercial work — client jobs included. A studio that needs FrameDrop for several people should buy one license per person.
Without a valid license (or after a refund), every app keeps working, up to 24 frames per sheet.
A future major version (2.0 and up) may be sold separately. If that happens, your 1.x apps keep working with your key.
04Payment
Licenses are sold through Gumroad, which is the merchant of record: Gumroad takes the payment, handles tax, sends your receipt and emails your license key. Gumroad's own terms apply to the checkout. We never see your card details.
05Refunds
If FrameDrop isn't right for you, ask for a refund within 14 days of buying and you'll get your money back. No questions, no forms to justify it. Reply to your Gumroad receipt or email gonz@lahacienda.media. Once refunded, the license key stops working.
After 14 days, refunds are up to us — but if something's genuinely broken, talk to us. We'd rather fix it or make it right.
06What's not okay
Please don't:
- Share your license key publicly, resell it, or let other people use it. It's for you — on up to 3 Macs, plus the browser and the plugins.
- Crack, bypass or tamper with the license check.
- Redistribute or resell the FrameDrop app or plugins as your own.
If a key is clearly being abused (posted publicly, sold, refunded and still used), we may disable it. We'll try to contact you first.
07Your work
Everything you make with FrameDrop — contact sheets, exported frames, PDFs, palettes — belongs to you. FrameDrop runs on your machine, so we never receive your video or what you make from it. You're responsible for having the rights to the footage you use. The FrameDrop watermark is optional and off by default.
The FrameDrop app, name, logo and design belong to La Hacienda LLC.
08No guarantees
We work hard on FrameDrop and test it on real projects, but it's software: it's provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. Keep backups of your original footage. Some video files won't open, especially unusual codecs in the browser version.
09Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, La Hacienda LLC isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost profits, lost data, missed deadlines) from using or not being able to use FrameDrop. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for FrameDrop in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
10Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms as FrameDrop changes. We'll change the date at the top, and for anything that affects what you paid for, we'll say so on the site. Changes never take away a license you already bought.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules — unless the law where you live gives you rights that can't be waived.
